Ingredients Used to Make This Recipe

You only need 7 ingredients to make this recipe, but of course, you can customize based on what you have or what fruits look good in the store. Add or subtract any fruits you’d like!

  1. Peaches add a soft, juicy texture and subtle sweetness to the fruit salad. Their floral flavor pairs well with both tart and sweet fruits.
  2. Nectarines are similar to peaches, but slightly firmer and with a smoother skin. Nectarines provide a crisp bite and sweet, aromatic flavor.
  3. Red Plums bring a tart, tangy contrast that balances the overall sweetness of the salad while adding beautiful deep color.
  4. Apricots offer a mildly sweet and slightly tart flavor with a firmer texture, adding variety and chewiness to each bite. The texture of apricots differs the most from the other stone fruits, so don’t skip this one for a great balance of textures in every bite.
  5. Cherries add a rich, sweet flavor and pop of color, as well as a pleasant texture contrast to the other fruits. Grab this cherry pitter to make this fruit salad prep a breeze!
  6. Lime Juice adds a bright, citrusy zing that enhances the fruit’s natural flavors and prevents them from browning too quickly.
  7. Maple Syrup or Honey brings everything together with a light, natural sweetness and a glossy finish.

Do you really need to ADD added sugar to FRUIT?!

This is how I used to think and it’s really deep in a dieting mindset. Instead, what if you focus on how much sweetness could be enhanced by adding a little added sugar.

If adding a drizzle of maple syrup or honey to a fresh fruit salad helps you eat more fruit, it’s a win!

How to Make Stone Fruit Salad

This recipe is so easy to make it doesn’t really warrant an entire recipe. HOWEVER, I wanted to share it to encourage you to eat more seasonal fruit! Berries get all the love and I thought stone fruits should share in that love too!

First, prep your fruit by washing thoroughly and cutting into desired ½-inch pieces. Also, pit and halve the cherries. Most of the work for this recipe is in the prep work!

Toss together, then squeeze fresh lime juice* over the fruit and drizzle maple syrup or honey over the top. Toss together so the flavors are well-incorporated. *Start with half a lime and adjust to taste.

I like to let the fruit salad sit for at least 15 minutes at room temperature to marinate and allow the flavors to blend. Serve and enjoy chilled or at room temperature.

How to Serve this Stone Fruit Salad

While you could totally eat it by the spoonful (I certainly did!), this fruit salad is also great in other ways. Here are some ideas:

  • Scoop it on top of a delicious yogurt bowl
  • Add to oatmeal – basic overnight oats or warm oatmeal too
  • Mix into chia pudding for even more flavor!
  • Enjoy with ice cream
