Healthy Chocolate Pudding Dirt Cups

When I was really young I would ask to go to TGI Fridays for my birthday every year. I’d share the potato skins and chicken fingers with one of my brothers, but the highlight was always the cup of dirt! There’s something about that chocolate pudding with crushed oreos and gummy worms that’s just so good. Even as an adult I’m pretty sure I would be in heaven!

So when I created my chocolate mousse made from tofu I knew I had to turn it into a higher protein, lower sugar cup of dirt to share with you.

And my kids LOVED these.

Sure, one day I’ll introduce them to the OG cup of dirt, but for now (they’re 4 and 20 months), this homemade version has been loved by all.

These Healthy Chocolate Pudding Dirt Cups are…

  • Nostalgic
  • Fun to make with your kids
  • Perfect for Halloween
  • Delicious!

Ingredients to Make Healthy Chocolate Pudding Dirt Cups

You only need a few ingredients to make these healthier cups of dirt.

First, you’ll need to make my High Protein Chocolate Mousse made from tofu. I promise, you cannot taste the tofu and they’re SO GOOD!!

Next, you’ll crush up some oreos.

Last, you need gummy worms.

(For an allergy-friendly gummy alternative, try these!)

I like to put out all the ingredients and let my 4 year old make his own cup of dirt, but you can also assemble them in advance. It’s a great party activity!

How to Make Healthy Chocolate Pudding Dirt Cups

To assemble the cups of dirt you’ll layer oreos and the chocolate mousse. (Yes, you could use store-bought chocolate pudding, but this version is higher in protein, higher in healthy fats (to actually fill up your kids’ bellies), lower in sugar, and even contains some fiber.

I like to add a layer of Oreos on the bottom, then the chocolate mousse, then oreos, and chocolate mousse and then just add a couple of gummy worms on top.

Yes, this contains sugar. Yes, that’s OK for your kids!

And that’s it… it couldn’t be easier and they’re so fun to make! Enjoy!!
