3 Secrets Why Diets Don’t Work

Research repeatedly shows that diets don’t work. Skip your low carb, keto, fasting diet this year and do THIS instead to feel your best.

3 secrets why diets don't work...

Did you know that nearly 50 million Americans start a diet each and every year?

With January 1st around the corner, will you be a part of the group of New Years resolvers who begin one of these diets?

Please, no!

Please don’t be one of the 50 million Americans who is filled with hope that THIS IS THE PLAN that will work for you…

…and it likely will NOT.

And then you’ll be stuck in this continuous cycle of on a diet –> off a diet –> on a diet –> off a diet…

And that’s WORSE for your physical health. WORSE for your mental health.

Your “diet” is typically what you eat, but when I refer to “starting a diet” I mean following an eating plan that’s restrictive, prescribed, and often not sustainable for the rest of your life. I’m talking about going keto or starting intermittent fasting. While these may seem like “lifestyle changes,” they’re not. (That’s a whole other story though!)

While many dieters are successful at losing weight on these plans, still these diets don’t work.

“But Chelsey, these people lose weight, how do they not work?”

Here are 3 Secrets Why Diets Don’t Work

1. Most people REGAIN WEIGHT LOST after a year

A huge international study published in BMJ (a well-respected journal) found that although individuals initially lost weight and even improved cardiovascular risk factors (like blood pressure), these effects DIMINISHED after a year.

WHY?

2. Diets are NOT SUSTAINABLE

Could you imagine eliminating carbs for the rest of your life? Skipping your child’s birthday cake? Ordering the fish and veggies at every renowned Italian restaurant?

That’s what you would have to do to follow some of these prescriptive diets.

They’re just not realistic, which is one reason why they’re not sustainable.

Also, most diets rely on a caloric deficit. The problem with a caloric deficit over time is that you will constantly need fewer and fewer calories to maintain your basal metabolic rate (AKA BMR, or your metabolic rate required to perform daily activities like breathing, sleeping, heart beating, etc.)

Unless you’re prepared to eat essentially NOTHING and feel weak and tired, your diet simply won’t work.

3. Diets don’t tap into YOUR SUPERPOWERS

Diets can be sustainable. There, I said it.

BUT diets must tap into YOUR SUPERPOWERS in order to be successful. If you’ve always been a breakfast person, intermittent fasting (AKA not eating until the afternoon) simply won’t work if you’re an early riser because it works for some individuals in the studies.

If you have a sweet tooth, following a plan that eliminates all carbs (aka keto, low carb diets) will cause you to become more ravenous and even binge on carbs and sugar over time.

You have to know yourself and what your body needs to develop healthy habits.

Simply put, you need something that’s SUSTAINABLE in order to get healthy for the long run.

Sure, you could focus on weight loss, but that’s not going to cut it long term. Instead, you’ll continue the cycle of starting and stopping a diet for years moving forward if you don’t figure out what works for you.

So what should you do instead of starting a diet this year?

Find a sustainable way of healthy eating that you enjoy. Learn to trust your body and improve your relationship with food so you don’t feel stressed and out of control around food. So that you can stop having “cheat days” and just eat what you’d like, while focusing on the food that helps you feel good.

Sounds easier said than done, no?

That’s why I developed the Nutrition Training Program.

The Nutrition Training Program is a 3 month online course designed to help you discover what to eat to feel your best, while improving your relationship with food so you never have to diet again.

You’ll learn WHAT to eat, WHEN to eat, HOW MUCH to eat, while following your own intuition and my proven meal formulas to feel satisfied and energized all day long.

You can have the best of both worlds: you can eat the foods you love – WITHOUT ELIMINATING ANYTHING FROM YOUR DIET – and feel good, focus on your health, and feel confident in your skin.

It may be harder than following some food rules, but the effects will also last a lifetime so you never have to “start over on January 1st” again or pick up another diet book.

Are you ready to transform your life and never diet again?
