3-Ingredient Chocolate Covered Pretzels
Satisfy salty and sweet cravings with these 3-Ingredient Chocolate Covered Pretzels…perfect for Valentine’s Day, your birthday, or ANY day you want to spread some cheer!
Valentine’s Day is around the corner! I totally L-O-V-E everything hearts and pink and kisses…so basically I’m a sucker for these hallmark holidays! {Insert emoji with heart eyes}
One of my favorite ways to celebrate sweet days, like February 14th, is with a sweet treat (obvssss)! Despite my love for green smoothies and kale salads, I totally believe in satisfying my sweet tooth too. I 100% practice what I preach by eating healthy, nourishing foods 85-90% of the time, but indulging in what I want the other 10-15%.
So when I was thinking of a fun treat that’s easy and satisfying, but not your typical cookie or brownie, chocolate covered pretzels came to mind!
When I brought these to a holiday party I didn’t realize what a hit they’d be (my boyfriend’s mom STILL talks about them!), but now these CCP’s are my go-to party treat (Super Bowl party anyone….ya know with blue and orange sprinkles for the Broncos?!)
AND they totally satisfy that salty AND sweet craving…with a dose of antioxidants (in the dark chocolate!). Not to mention they’re fun for your kiddos to bring to school, food allergy-friendly, and F-U-N…and made with love too!
Until I started playing with chocolate more, I thought make chocolate-covered anything was WAY more difficult than it actually is…
Melting chocolate (even in the microwave – in 30 second intervals, stirring in between) is WAY easier when you add some coconut oil to smooooooth it out.
Then dip each pretzel rod in the chocolate, decorate with sprinkles, heart-shaped candies, or nada, and lay it on a wax paper-lined baking sheet. To speed up the hardening process you can stick ‘em in the fridge for about five minutes.
When the pretzels are fully hardened, store in an air-tight container for a few weeks.
And as far as sweet treats go, these pretzels contain less than 100 calories each! #winning! And if you really wanted to boost the nutrition factor (but totally unnecessary!), you can try these pretzel sticks (but they do contain sesame seeds and are manufactured in a facility that uses nuts).

- 1 teaspoon coconut oil
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips (I use Enjoy Life brand)
- 20 pretzel rods
- Optional: ½ cup white chocolate, sprinkles, decorative candies
- Line a large baking sheet with wax paper. Set aside.
- In a small bowl combine coconut oil with dark chocolate chips. Microwave for 30 seconds, remove and stir, then repeat until chocolate is smooth – about 1 minute 30 seconds or 2 minutes. Repeat in a separate bowl with white chocolate, if desired.
- Dip half of a pretzel rod in chocolate. Set on baking sheet and decorate with sprinkles or drizzle with white chocolate. Repeat with all pretzel rods. Allow chocolate-dipped pretzels to fully harden (time will vary based on temperature and humidity of environment).
- Enjoy once chocolate is fully hardened or store in an air-tight container (pretzels will stay fresh for a few weeks).
Tell me: Do you have a go-to party treat?
