3 Healthier Sweet Treats That Feel Like Cheats
I shared 3 healthier sweet treats that feel like cheats with The Doctors and I’m so excited to share them with you!
Ok, ok I loathe the word “cheats,” BUT since that’s what producers on The Doctors wanted to call them, that’s what I’ll go with!
In the spring I flew to LA to film a segment on The Doctors and this morning it finally aired!
You can catch it here!
I know you want the sweet treats, but I just have got to tell you the story of my whirlwind 24 hours in LA filming…
A producer of the show reached out because she made my chia pudding and absolutely loved it! Personally, it’s one of my favorites, so I don’t blame her!
When I first got the email, I honestly thought it was a joke- ME?!?
But then I gave myself a positive pep talk and realized, HELLS YES ME! (In a totally non-self absorbed way, but more in a positive self-talk way!)
So we came up with a segment about “Sweet Treats That Feel Like Cheats.”
I don’t love the word “cheating,” because it insinuates that you’re doing something bad. Instead, I prefer that you treat yourself when you’re in the mood!
But if you don’t want a sweet treat that leaves you with a sugar crash or stomachache, then I have 3 treats that are perfect for you…
Here are my 3 healthier sweet treats that feel like cheats that you’ve GOT to try:
1. Chunky Monkey Chia Pudding
This may be one of the EASIEST recipes I’ve ever shared, but it’s also one of my favorites!
With a combination of banana and chocolate, plus thick pudding consistency (thanks to chia seeds), this is one filling breakfast, snack, or dessert when you need a chocolate fix.
The recipe has NO added sugar, but it still tastes plenty sweet, thanks to the banana and is full of chocolate flavor, thanks to unsweetened cocoa powder.
Try this one, if you haven’t yet!
2. Vegan Brownie Pizza
Ok… fudgy brownies?! YES PLEASE!
But fudgy brownies that are full of fiber?! EVEN BETTER!
Thanks to coconut flour, these brownies will keep you full for a longer period of time than brownies made with regular flour.
Plus, they’re extra fudgy thanks to creamy avocado (hello healthier fats!) and sunflower seed butter (or you can sub another nut butter).
Then have fun topping your “pizza” with (non-dairy) yogurt, seeds, fruit, and more!
3. Carrot Cake Blender Waffles
Who doesn’t love waffles or pancakes on a weekend morning? I don’t think the weekend is complete without them… but I don’t want to feel weighed down after brunch… I want to be able to enjoy my weekend!
Enter protein-packed blender waffles! These waffles are made with eggs, flax seeds, chia seeds, and more to fill you up without weighing you down.
Feel energized and satiated for HOURS with this recipe!
