What’s better than sharing a delicious breakfast with the ones you love? Nothing in my opinion! That’s why I couldn’t wait any longer to share my latest and greatest breakfast recipe…
Nut Free Granola!
I didn’t plan on sharing this today, but it was tugging at my heartstrings because it’s THAT good!
Living with food allergies to nuts and sesame seeds, I can’t eat a lot of granola on the market. Most granolas contain nuts, or are at least packaged in the same facility, making them unsafe for me to eat. If you have allergies, you get it.
And there’s nothing worse than realllllly wanting something that everyone else can easily have. Food restrictions are the worst (which is exactly why I’m not a fan of self-imposed restrictions for weight loss!)
BUT, by DIYing, you can not only make a delicious-tasting nut free granola that’s safe to eat, you can also save money (why is granola so dang expensive?!), make more of it than you get in those little bags, and customize the batch to the EXACT flavors that you like. For me, that means less added sugar than most store-bought varieties.
Personally, I think granola should meet a few criteria:
- Be full of CHUNKS – the real big ones that stick together – SO GOOD!
- Have tons of cinnamon! Did you know cinnamon can actually lessen the impact of carbohydrates on your blood sugar?! I always add cinnamon to oats!
- Make you feel good – and when food is SAFE to eat, it helps you feel good! Plus, this granola is low in added sugar, which will definitely helps you feel your best!
My Nut Free Granola meets all of these criteria, and more, so what are we waiting for?!
