Who else loves a make-ahead breakfast? (Cue hand raises!)
Who especially loves a make-ahead breakfast full of superfood benefits and nourishing ingredients? (Cue more hand raises!)
Mornings are usually a very hectic time of day, but that’s no reason to skimp on breakfast. Breakfast isn’t necessarily the most important meal of the day, but if you’re hungry in the morning, there’s no reason not to have a deliciously nutritious option available at your fingertips.
That’s where these Golden Milk Latte Overnight Oats come into play…
Whenever I can spend less than 5 minutes making breakfast the night before, I know my morning will be that much smoother.
Plus, these overnight oats are full of nourishing ingredients that will keep you full, satisfied, and even help ward off inflammation…
Oats make up the base of this recipe. As you probably know, oats are satisfying, filling, and delicious! They provide just under 3 grams of mostly soluble fiber per 1/3 cup (the amount used in this recipe). If needed, be sure to use gluten free oats.
Chia seeds are a perfect tiny superfood thanks to their trifecta of nutrients – fiber, plant-based protein, and healthy fats. As I’ve discussed before, I’m not a fan of oats on their own, but chia seeds balance out your morning jar to contributing some protein and healthy fats. I suggest ordering in bulk because they’re that versatile!
Cinnamon is one of my favorite spices because it’s been shown to help improve blood sugar control by reducing insulin resistance. That’s why using cinnamon in a carbohydrate-heavy meal (like overnight oats) is a great idea (and not to mention delicious)!
Ginger is full of flavor and health benefits, so you definitely can’t skimp on this spice in your overnight oats! Being in my third trimester of pregnancy, I can vouch for how much ginger helps alleviate nausea and morning sickness. Even more, ginger contains anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits, providing much more than just a zing of flavor.
Coconut milk (or any milk/milk alternative) helps this entire recipe come together. I love using coconut milk because it contains more fat than some other plant-based alternatives. Fat is satisfying and will help you stay full throughout the morning. Even more, the fat helps you better absorb the active compounds in turmeric (see below).
New Chapter’s Fermented Turmeric Booster Powder is my secret weapon in these Golden Milk Latte Overnight Oats! Turmeric gets a lot of hype in the media because of its anti-inflammatory prowess, but are you using it the right way to get the biggest health bang?
New Chapter’s Turmeric Booster Powder is fermented with probiotics to make it easily digestible. You don’t have to worry about pairing turmeric with black pepper to boost absorption – it’s already unlocked for your body to use (how cool is that?).
Turmeric promotes*:
- Brain and cognitive health
- Inflammation support
- Heart health
I also started taking New Chapter’s Turmeric Force to reap even more benefits from turmeric. Unlike many turmeric supplements on the market, Turmeric Force uses the whole turmeric root in the supplement.
Why is this important? Curcumin is often touted as the primary player giving turmeric its incredible abilities. However, there are hundreds more synergistic compounds that help curcumin do its job. By using the whole turmeric root, you retain curcumin as well as other phytonutrients like turmerones, so you’re reaping the benefits as you would if you used the whole turmeric root in your cooking.
While you’ll start to unlock the benefits of turmeric in these golden milk latte overnight oats, supplementing with Turmeric Force can help you even more! Learn more about New Chapter’s Turmeric Force here.
